Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty, commonly known as a Tummy-Tuck, is the operational procedure to remove excess fat and skin from the abdomen area (middle and lower) and to tighten the abdominal muscles.
Abdominoplasty can
enhance your appearance and your self-confidence. This procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding
abdomen, and helps to reduce your waistline significantly. Candidates for a tummy-tuck are women and men who have large
fat deposits or loose skin that does not respond to diet, exercise, or both.
Women who have had multiple pregnancies, and stretched their abdominal wall and skin will
especially benefit from this procedure. In addition, older patients who are obese and have lost the elasticity of their skin
will also benefit from a tummy-tuck. Abdominoplasty can be used alone, or in combination with liposuction to achieve the desired results.
When performed by a qualified surgeon, who is trained in body contouring, the results
of this procedure are generally quite positive. In your initial consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your health,
determine the extent of the fat deposits in your abdominal area, and carefully assess your skin tone. The surgical
procedure is performed at well known hospitals in Lahore. You will stay in the hospital for 2 to 3 days, under the
supervision of your surgeon, and a fully trained staff. After that, you will be sent home with some instructions
regarding mild exercise, and household work. The skin stitches will be removed between 7 - 9 days after the surgery.
The abdominal scars will not be visible under most clothing.
Liposuction
Liposuction, is the surgical process of removing fat from beneath the surface of the skin. It is used to reduce fullness in any area of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, arms, chin, neck, cheeks, etc. It is an excellent method of spot reduction. However, it is not an effective method of weight reduction. With this procedure, localized deposits of fat are removed in order to re-contour one or more areas of the body. The procedure is performed by making a tiny incision, inserting a narrow tube called a cannula, and vacuuming the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin.
Generally, people who have localized areas of protruding fat achieve the most dramatic results. Patients who are slightly overweight can also benefit from liposuction. Good elasticity is necessary, as it permits the skin to shrink easily to reduce the contour.
In women, the single most frequently treated areas are the outer thighs, followed by the tummy. In men, the flank area or "love handles" are treated most frequently. If there is excess fat in the area under the chin and the skin is taut, liposuction alone can produce a more sculpted, angular, and youthful jaw line.
